• August 25, 2019, 12:01 PM; Along the C&O canal
  • Nikon 7100; 300 mm; ISO 200; 1/320 sec, f/5.6
  • Picture was imported into Adobe Photoshop Elements and adjusted for color, which darkened the background and enhanced the blues of the dragonfly
  • I took this picture because I love working with wildlife and this shot gave me an opportunity to work on focusing on the dragonfly while blurring the background (e.g., “bokeh”)

  • August 25, 2019, 12:14 PM; Along the C&O Canal
  • Nikon 7100; 200 mm;  ISO 200; 1/125 sec, f/5
  • Picture was imported into Adobe Photoshop Elements and adjusted for color which created more contrast between the greens and the blue heron.
  • I took several shots of the heron as it was moving through the grass and trying not to startle the fish away.  This one gave me the reflection I was looking for on the water.

  • I never pass up an opportunity for a cherry blossom picture since they’re only with us for about 1 week in the springtime and blooming is so weather dependent!
